We recently changed the way samples are collected and shipped to our laboratory. We have developed a way to stabilize the samples that allows shipping them by regular mail without the need for refrigeration. This reduces dramatically the cost of transportation.

All samples must now be shipped using our Sample Collection Kit, which you may order by phone (604) 207 9150 or online.

The sytem works as follows:

1) Extract blood and separate the serum following the instructions in the Sample Collection Kit (copy below).

2) Fill up the order form enclosed in the Sample Collection Kit, or better yet, place the order for the test online, which has the advantage that you need to type your clinic's information only once (our system will remember you the next time you place an order).

3) Ship the sample by regular mail to our lab using the sample tube and bubble envelope provided in the Sample Collection Kit. There is no need for refrigeration.

4) Once we receive the sample in our lab, it is tested and within 3-4 working days we email you the result.

 IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Please note that it is preferable to have one order, for one serum sample, shipped in one return envelope. However, you can ship more than one sample tube inside the return envelope if you placed the order online, since in that case we can match each tube to the information you input into our database.
  • Samples arriving to our lab after 15 days of the shipping date will not be processed without consultation with you first.
  • It is recommended that you place orders online rather than using the requisition form in the Sample Collection Kit. Placing orders online allows us to work on a closed loop and thus contact you if the sample does not reach us within a reasonable time.
  • Samples may be stored in the refrigerator for a few days or in a freezer for several weeks prior to shipment at room temperature.
  • If there are any problems with the materials contained in the extraction kit envelope please contact us immediately for replacements.
  • Payment includes the extraction kit as well as the test. Under normal circumstances, the results will be e-mailed to the address specified in your order within 3 business days of receiving the sample.
  • If the result of the OncoPet™ RECAF™ test does not coincide with the pathology report, a new serum extraction kit and the corresponding OncoPet™ RECAF™ test will be provided at no cost.
